Replay. Connecting to Your True Self with the Human Design System

Navigating life and embracing your unique blueprint for a fulfilling life with the Human Design System.

When we first came across Human Design, we were intrigued—cuz who doesn't want to know their human blueprint? We were intrigued by the concept, so why not dive in?? In this episode, we're sharing what we found. We're not experts, but we're learners, and we're bringing you along for the ride.

What Even Is Human Design?

At its core, Human Design is a system that helps us understand how we're built to move through the world. It's not a belief system—it doesn't require you to worship anything or abandon your religion. Instead, it's a mix of science and spirituality, drawing from astrology, chakras, the I Ching, quantum physics, and Kabbalah.

Human Design offers a visual body graph (which may appear unconventional at first glance), and with just your birth date, time, and location, it calculates your unique energetic blueprint. It's a map of your strengths, challenges, and how you're most aligned to make decisions.

Our Types and Why They Matter

We found out that Damaris is a Manifestor and Nachi is a Manifesting Generator (a subtype of Generator). These types, along with Projectors and Reflectors, form the foundation of Human Design.

Manifestors (Damaris):

Manifestors are here to initiate. We're self-starters who move independently and don't need permission to make moves. The trick? Informing others. Not for approval but to give people a heads-up and reduce resistance. Our "not-self" emotion is anger, and when we're in alignment, we feel peace. For Damaris, that hit hard. Moving out of NYC was a Manifestor move—choosing peace over pressure.

Manifesting Generators (Nachi):

As Manifesting Generators, we're the doers, the multitaskers, the builders of the world. We thrive on satisfaction, and frustration is a clear sign we're off track. But here's where it gets tricky: we need to respond, not initiate. That means taking a beat before saying yes—pausing to gauge the emotional response. Nachi realized that impulsivity often led to frustration, especially when committing to things that didn't feel quite right in the gut.

Energy Centers & Inner Authority

Human Design isn't just about your type. Each of us has an "inner authority"—the part of us we should trust when making decisions.

Damaris has Splenic Authority, which is rooted in intuition and instinct. That inner voice only speaks once, so listening the first time is crucial. And Damaris lives that—always following the gut, especially when it comes to food, medicine, or significant life decisions.

Nachi has Emotional Authority, which means decisions should never be made in the heat of the moment. Waiting for emotional clarity is key. Nachi had to learn the hard way—saying yes when happy, only to get stuck in commitments that brought frustration later—a huge lesson in honoring emotional waves.

Other Types: Projectors and Reflectors

We also explored the other types because understanding how others move is part of living in alignment with one another.

  • Projectors are guides. They're not here to grind nonstop; instead, they wait for invitations to share their wisdom. When they don't, they risk burnout and bitterness.

  • Reflectors are rare (1% of the population!) and highly influenced by their environment. They're lunar beings—needing a complete 29.5-day moon cycle before making big decisions. Their journey is about embracing surprise, not disappointment.

Key Takeaways

Here's what we're learning about living in alignment with our Human Design:

  • Manifestors need peace, not anger. Initiate, but remember to inform.

  • Generators/Manifesting Generators need satisfaction, not frustration. Respond, don't react.

  • Projectors seek success, not bitterness. Wait for the invitation.

  • Reflectors look for surprise, not disappointment. Trust the lunar cycle.

We're Still Learning (and That's Okay)

This journey is far from over. The more we learn about Human Design, the more compassion we have—for ourselves and others. We get why we operate the way we do. We understand our clashes better. And we're learning how to collaborate in a way that honors both of our energies.

So, if you've ever felt "off" or like you're trying to fit into a system that just isn't you, maybe it's time to explore your Human Design. Not to be boxed in but to break free.

Please let us know if you would like us to delve further. This was just the beginning—and you already know, we got notes. If you know your Human Design, please share it with us in the comments. We wanna see something…
